LONELINESS
How many friends
does a man need
to never feel alone,
to never fall asleep?
Lone­li­ness
fill­ing our heart,
shin­ing a light
into the bot­tom­less pit
that har­bors our fears,
our inse­cu­ri­ties,
our human imper­fec­tion,
and shows that
not all is lost,
in the des­per­ate path
to com­pan­ion­ship.
How many souls
does a woman need
to never feel alone,
never fall asleep?
